As a journalist reporting for KPMG Deutschland, I attended COP27, the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Working alongside German economist, Benedikt Herles, we conducted a series of live broadcasts for German television channel, NTV, and created social media videos that covered different aspects of the conference.

During the conference, we interviewed various key figures in business and politics, discussing their efforts to adopt sustainable practices for the future. Through these conversations, we gained valuable insights into the current state of the fight against climate change and the steps that companies and governments are taking to combat it. We also had the opportunity to speak with top environmentalists and climate experts, learning about their perspectives on the most pressing issues facing our planet.

This COP was particularly crucial given the times we are living in. With the world facing increasing environmental challenges, including rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and the loss of biodiversity, the decisions made at this conference could have far-reaching consequences for our future.
