HI, MY NAME IS Ahmed
HI, MY NAME IS Ahmed
I am a filmmaker and video journalist passionate about storytelling through film.
Over the years, Iβve created short documentaries for Egyptian Streets, an English-language media outlet based in Egypt, exploring the countryβs often-overlooked heritage, art, culture, and history.
A key focus of my work is shedding light on underreported social and environmental issues. As a student in London, I collaborated with a non-profit charity to create a short campaign documentary raising awareness of entrenched social issues affecting children across the UK.
In 2022, I directed Greening Egypt, an award-winning documentary on local environmentalists working towards a sustainable future. The film was released ahead of COP27, which I covered for KPMG Deutschland. I also documented the 2023 Gaza war from Cairo with RTL Germany, filming protests and the Cairo Summit for Peace in broadcasts that reached over seven million viewers.
Most recently, I directed my debut feature film Wayfarer, a post-apocalyptic adventure set in a war-torn Egypt within a future world ravaged by global conflict. Blending ancient Egyptian mythology with modern meditations on ruin and decline, the film explores the intersection of Egyptian, English, and French cultures, weaving themes of survival, identity, and the preservation of cultural heritage in a fractured world.
